Susan Tan has spent years practising in the area of home nursing during her nursing days. lecturing in healthcare at Asia’s Leading Medical School, NUS and NTU School of Social Sciences. She’s an Executive member of the Society of Behavioural Health.

In the last 20 years, Susan has conducted over 350 aged care workshops and talks for more than 5,000 caregivers and volunteers, developed more than 20 capability building training programs including courseware and assessment tools for the aged care sector and audited hundreds of work training programs for the Work Development Authority Singapore (now Workforce Singapore).

The Ageing Process 
Healthy Ageing and Quality of Life in old age
Common physical diseases and mental health issues related to ageing
Understanding the challenges of an ageing body 
Effective communication with the seniors
Demonstrating empathy to build rapport

  • A nurse since 1992 with a passion for seniors, therefore, Susan practised as a nurse in home nursing.
  • An active community volunteer working with seniors through befriending and health coaching projects.
  • Have been an adult educator, assessor and curriculum developer for training institutions in the aged care since 2009.
  • Developed more than 20 capability building training programs including courseware and assessment tools for the aged care sector.
