Retirement Planning Beyond the Dollars and Cents

Never a dull moment in this two-day online retirement planning workshop.

In recent years, CPF Board, the banks and insurance companies have been educating the population about starting their retirement planning at a younger age. Conversations with thousands of individuals in their 50s and beyond pointed to the fact that retirement planning is more than ensuring financial security. If money can buy you health, meaning and purpose in life and happiness, there would not be sick or depressed millionaires or billionaires. Good health, strong and supportive social relationships, good mental health, living an engaged and meaningful life are fundamental pillars for a happy retirement. It is never too early or too late to start retirement planning. The best time to start planning is NOW. Helping your employees plan for a secured future shows that you care as an employer. This act of caring is very important to a lot of employees and increases their loyalty to the company. 

 

 

Susan Tan set up and headed the Career Coaching Unit at the Ministry of Manpower in 2000, and has since spent more than two decades coaching and helping hundreds of individuals to make changes in their lives or careers. Retirement planning is a natural evolution of her coaching work. In 2016, she designed retirement planning workshop called Rethink 50 and has been conducting it for the healthcare sector and public service since.

In the last 20 years, Susan has conducted over 1000 training seminars on health, wellbeing, aged care and healthcare and audited hundreds of work training programs for the Work Development Authority Singapore (now Workforce Singapore). She is also lecturing in healthcare at Asia’s Leading Medical School, NUS and NTU School of Social Sciences. She’s an Executive member of the Society of Behavioural Health.

  • ECI has been in the business of life coaching and health coaching since 2003. It has helped hundreds of individuals to make changes in their lives or careers, to resolve life challenges, and to make lifestyle changes for better health outcomes.
  • ECI designed a retirement planning workshop – Rethink 50 – for the healthcare sector and public service in 2016 and has since conducted close to 150 runs since.
